I consulted Dr. Abhishek for treatment of my finger joint issues. He was compassionate, took the time to understand my condition, and recommended only the tests and treatment I actually needed instead of prescribing unnecessary medications. What stood out most was his focus on finding a long-term solution rather than providing only temporary relief. His patient-centered approach and genuine concern inspired confidence throughout the consultation.

I came to Dr. Abhishek for a second opinion after receiving a diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis, which was quite frightening given the nature of the disease. Dr. Abhishek was incredibly attentive, listened to every detail, and conducted a thorough review of my scans. He concluded that my condition was not Ankylosing Spondylitis and that regular mobility exercises would be beneficial. Thank you, Dr. Abhishek, for your thorough care and excellent guidance.

Questions people often ask

Is fibromyalgia real?

+

Yes. The pain is real. The brain and nerves become more sensitive and amplify pain signals. It is not imagined.

Does fibromyalgia damage the joints?

+

No. It does not damage the joints, muscles or organs, and it is not an inflammatory or autoimmune disease.

How is fibromyalgia diagnosed?

+

From your symptoms and an examination: widespread pain for three months or more, with tiredness, poor sleep or memory problems. Tests are used only to rule out other conditions.

Can fibromyalgia be treated?

+

There is no cure, but symptoms can be managed. Gentle exercise built up slowly is the most important treatment, along with good sleep habits, pacing, talking therapy and, for some people, medicines.

Why see a rheumatologist?

+

Fibromyalgia shares symptoms with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and thyroid problems. A rheumatologist can rule these out and plan care that fits you.
